Service Learning

Pioneer Junior College’s vision, “Always Serving, Always Learning”, reflects the aspirations of the 62 enthusiastic pioneers who founded Pioneer Junior College in the year 2000. It is important that both our staff and students have a heart for service and celebrate lifelong learning. It is critical that we have a strong foundation in service learning because, whilst academic excellence and intellectual pursuits are essential to the development of our students, it is in reaching out and touching lives that we retain our humanity. The Service Learning Committee adopts a whole-school approach by providing a comprehensive platform comprising of diverse projects for both staff and students to serve the community via college-driven projects and self-initiated projects by students on long-term and short-term basis. This an approach adheres closely to our college values of having a sense of commitment and showing compassion for others.
