Achievements


  • Successfully completed the Community Engagement Leadership Programme (CELP) and certified by MOE as Community Engagement Leaders (CELs) 
  • Planned and organised the college’s commemorations of Total Defence Day, International Friendship Day, Racial Harmony Day and National Day from 2014 to 2018 
  • Represented the college and served as facilitators at the prestigious HarmonyWorks! Conference organised by OnePeople.SG from 2014 to 2018 
  • Represented the college at the Choa Chu Kang GRC National Day Observance Ceremony with Minister for Health, Mr Gan Kim Yong from 2014 to 2018
  • Planned and organised the college’s commemoration of the passing of former Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew (March 2015), former President Mr S. R. Nathan (August 2016), Mr Othman Wok (April 2017) and Mr Jek Yeun Thong (June 2018) 
  • Participated in as well as served as facilitators in the CEC’s learning journeys to Joo Chiat, Kampong Glam, Telok Ayer and Little India, as well as Internal Security Department Heritage Centre, Religious Rehabilitation Group, Land Transport Gallery, Singapore Discovery Centre, Malay Heritage Centre, ArtScience Museum and Harmony in Diversity Gallery between 2014 and 2018 
  • Represented the college for the SG100 Think Future Policy Forums with Minister of Culture, Community and Youth, Ms Grace Fu and Acting Minister of Education (Higher Education and Skills), Mr Ong Ye Kung in 2016 
  • Represented the college at the ASEAN Day Reception 2016 at Marina Mandarin with Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan
  • Represented the college for Mr Othman Wok’s Memorial Service at Victoria Concert Hall (April 2017)

 

CEC’s Choa Chu Kang Community Trails

  • CEC Graduation Project – creation of the college’s original Choa Chu Kang Community Bus Trail and Teck Whye Community Walking Trail, formally launched during Racial Harmony Day 2016 by Minister for Education (Schools), Mr Ng Chee Meng 
  • Conducted the Teck Whye Community Walking Trail Training Workshop for Chua Chu Kang Secondary School students (May 2016)
  • Represented the college and presented the Choa Chu Kang Community Trails at the HarmonyWorks! Conference 2016 at Singapore Polytechnic Convention Centre with Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills), Mr Ong Ye Kung (July 2016)
  • Conducted the Choa Chu Kang Community Trails for the college’s JC2 cohort – adapted to fit the commemorations of Total Defence Day, International Friendship Day, Racal Harmony Day and National Day in 2017 and 2018
