International & Current Affairs Society

Introduction

The International & Current Affairs Society (ICAS), founded in 2018, aims to broaden the horizons of our students, equipping them with a quick wit, a comprehensive understanding of global affairs, international relations and a culture of service and responsibility. It is a society dedicated in cultivating the necessary 21st century skills and mindset forging informed and concerned citizens, contributing to society.

In order to achieve these goals, ICAS trains for and participates in a number of programmes, including Model United Nations Conferences. ICAS prepares and presents the ‘News In Three Minutes’ public service announcements, concisely summarising important news events into short 3 minute segments for the easy consumption of fellow students. ICAS is also responsible for preparing delegations participating in the various Model United Nations conferences, with training sessions and various preparatory course held to prepare college delegates.

The International & Current Affairs Society also organises and hosts various sporadic events in order to educate the school and members of current affairs, major happenings and international diplomacy.
